Baltimore County police investigate early morning shooting in Rosedale

NYACK, New York State — Three women were injured in a shooting early Saturday morning outside CY's Restaurant and Lounge on Route 59, the Clarkstown Police Department reported. Officers responded to the scene around 3:05 a.m. after receiving reports of shots fired.

Upon arrival, officers located an adult female lying on the ground in front of the establishment with gunshot wounds to the leg and abdomen. Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and officers provided immediate medical attention before transporting her to Montefiore Nyack Hospital.

Further investigation revealed that two other adult women, also injured in the shooting, had driven to Montefiore Nyack Hospital. Both women suffered gunshot wounds to the legs. Authorities said neither of the injuries was life-threatening.

A preliminary investigation indicates the suspect is a dark-skinned man with dreadlocks and wearing a black mask. While the motive for the shooting is still under investigation, police said the incident does not appear to be random and there is no immediate danger to the public.

“We would like to thank our law enforcement partners who assisted us at the scene, particularly the Orangetown Police Department and the New York State Police,” the Clarkstown Police Department said in a statement.

The investigation is ongoing and authorities urged anyone with information to contact the Clarkstown Police Department.
