Two men dead, one injured in overnight shooting at Hartman Park in Nashville

Nashville police are investigating the fatal shooting of two men early Sunday morning in Hartman Park. Metropolitan Nashville police said the shooting “occurred during a gathering” at the park on Tucker Road overnight, and the motive for the incident remains under investigation.

Law enforcement arrived at the North Nashville park around 1 a.m. and found Dominique Miller, 21, lying in the parking lot after suffering multiple gunshot wounds. First responders transported Miller to nearby TriStar Skyline Medical Center, where he died.

Officers later learned that Jamontez Johnson, 26, was also shot in the shooting. According to a statement from the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, Johnson was transported in a private vehicle to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

A third man, whose name was not released by MNPD, later reported to police that he had also been shot in the park. The 21-year-old's injuries are not life-threatening, police said.

Police are asking anyone with information about the murders of Miller and Johnson to call Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463.
