Tottenham teenager a 'big success' behind the scenes with Ange Postecoglou left in awe

Tottenham's summer transfer window has already proven to be a success in the eyes of many, with multiple key positions filled.

One thing that's for certain is Daniel Levy hasn't held back at Tottenham this summer with over £100 million spent on new signings.

Archie Gray has already been tipped to be a 'big success' by Harry Redknapp, while Lucas Bergvall is already impressing Dominic Solanke behind the scenes.

Ange Postecoglou has never been shy of giving youth a chance since taking over in north London, which was evident last time out as Wilson Odobert was thrown straight into the starting lineup to face Everton.

And, if Alasdair Gold's latest insight behind the scenes at Spurs is anything to go by then it's easy to see why Ange made that decision…

Wilson Odobert already a 'big success' around Tottenham

Odobert enjoyed an impressive debut for the Lilywhites against Everton, which saw him feature for 67 minutes. He left the field with a pass completion rate of 86%, two dribbles and two aerial duels won.

All the hard work he's been putting in at Hotspur Way is starting to pay off as now the fans get to see his qualities, not just Postecoglou and his coaching staff.

Alasdair Gold shared exactly what everyone at Tottenham thinks of him on his YouTube channel.

“Odobert has been a big success behind the scenes so far, in terms of impressing Postecoglou and the coaching staff. He's just got this terrific, technique, pace, he dribbles without fear ability and goes, and goes, and goes.”

Ange isn't the only one who has taken kindly to the Frenchman as James Maddison also hailed Odobert as a 'real threat'.

Will Odobert start for Tottenham vs Newcastle?

Well, he certainly couldn't have done much more to put his name in the hat for a second successive start for the Lilywhites. But, one thing that could influence Ange Postecoglou's thinking is injuries, as Solanke could return to face Newcastle at the start of September.

Brennan Johnson received criticism from Simon Jordan in Spurs' first game of the season, and the second was arguably worse, which could force Ange's hand.

Newcastle could be the perfect test for Odobert as he'll likely line up against Tino Livramento, who has the pace to go stride for stride with the Frenchman.

These are the kind of games that Spurs need to be winning this season if they are to breach the top four.
