Former Cardinals Player and Panthers Executive Adrian Wilson Arrested for Domestic Violence

Former Carolina Panthers vice president of player personnel and Arizona Cardinals safety Adrian Wilson was arrested on three counts of domestic violence in Scottsdale, Arizona, in the early morning hours of June 1, according to a Scottsdale Police Department spokesperson and court records.

The Panthers confirmed Sunday that Wilson, 44, is no longer employed by the team, but declined further comment.

Shortly after 6 a.m. on June 1, Wilson was arrested at his home and charged with assault, criminal damage and disorderly conduct, a Scottsdale police spokesperson confirmed Tuesday. All three charges are misdemeanors. Wilson’s next court date is a case management conference on July 16, according to online court records. Wilson did not immediately respond to a voicemail left on his phone.

Wilson spent his entire 12-year NFL playing career with the Cardinals. He made five Pro Bowls and was an All-Pro in 2009. In 2015, he became the 15th member of the Cardinals' Ring of Honor. He joined the Panthers in February 2023 after eight seasons in various roles with Arizona's scouting department. He served as the Cardinals' co-interim general manager following the 2022 season after Steve Keim took an indefinite leave of absence.

Wilson was born in High Point, North Carolina, where he played high school football before becoming a star at NC State. He was a third-round draft pick by the Cardinals in 2001.

Asked if the Panthers were aware of the arrest, a spokesperson referred The Athletic According to the team's initial statement, released Sunday: “Adrian Wilson will not continue in his role as vice president of player personnel for the Carolina Panthers. In accordance with our organizational policy on employee matters, we will have no further comment.”
