Pennsylvania Man Sentenced to 3 Years in Prison for Illegal Gun Sales in Jamestown Area

A Pennsylvania man who illegally sold more than three dozen firearms in the Jamestown area has been sentenced to three years in prison, U.S. Attorney Trini E. Ross announced.

U.S. District Judge John L. Sinatra Jr. sentenced Christian Arroyo Collazo, 28, of New Castle. Collazo pleaded guilty in April to a count of conspiracy to traffic in firearms.

According to prosecutors, Collazo, who does not have a firearms license, transported approximately 40 pistols, AR-style rifles, handguns, revolvers and magazines to the Jamestown area between July 2022 and March 2023 after acquiring them from dealers in New Castle.

Prosecutors said Collazo used social media to discuss firearms, send photos to potential buyers and promote his gun trafficking. His activities were uncovered during an investigation into methamphetamine and heroin trafficking in the Jamestown area.

Ross said the case was prosecuted under new criminal provisions in the bipartisan Safer Communities Act, which Congress enacted and President Biden signed into law in June 2022. It is the first federal law specifically designed to target illegal trafficking and mail-order purchases of firearms.
