Manchester Police Arrest Toms River Man in Connection with Series of Vehicle Burglaries


MANCHESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ – A 30-year-old Toms River man, Cody Diaz, was arrested following a series of vehicle burglaries that occurred in the Pine Lake Park section of Manchester Township on Sept. 3, 2024. Authorities said about a dozen incidents were reported and video surveillance footage captured the suspect in the act, which was later shared with the public.

On the morning of September 4, at approximately 6:30 a.m., an alert resident of Pine Lake Park noticed a suspicious individual matching the suspect’s description and alerted police. Responding officers identified the man as Cody Diaz. Diaz was found in possession of a stolen bicycle and items related to the previous day’s burglaries.

Diaz has been charged with multiple counts of burglary, theft and receiving stolen property. He is currently being held at the Ocean County Jail awaiting a detention hearing.

Police are encouraging the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity. Residents are also being asked to lock their vehicles to prevent further incidents.   • Accident closes parts of Route 4 in Huntingtown

    HUNTINGTON, Maryland – A traffic accident has caused major road closures on Route 4 in Huntingtown. As of the last update at 12:55 p.m., Route 4 northbound at Main Street has reopened, but Route 4 southbound remains closed at Bowie Shop Road.

    The Calvert County Sheriff's Office reported the crash earlier today, warning drivers to expect delays. Authorities are urging motorists to use caution when traveling in the area.

    Emergency responders, including the Prince Frederick Volunteer Fire Department, are on scene and the investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing. Further updates will be provided as they become available.

  • Washington Township Couple Arrested for Child Endangerment, Corruption of Minors

    Washington Township, Pennsylvania – Westmoreland County Detectives and Washington Township Police arrested two individuals in connection with a child abuse investigation involving multiple minor victims. Jordan Heidt and Heather Johnson were taken into custody on Wednesday, September 4, 2024 and charged with Endangering the Welfare of Children and Corruption of Minors.

    According to authorities, the investigation began after police received reports of a child abuse incident at a residence on Echo Ridge Road in Washington Township. Investigators say the incidents involved multiple minors and occurred on the property.

    One of the victims told police she went to the residence because she was in a relationship with one of the other minor victims who lived there. The victim told investigators that Heidt allegedly forced her to have sex with the minor in an abandoned trailer on the property.

    The investigation is ongoing and no further details have been released at this time. Heidt and Johnson are both expected to be arraigned in the coming weeks.

  • Stamford Police Arrest Bridgeport Man in Sex Trafficking Investigation

    STAMFORD, Connecticut – The Stamford Police Department’s Special Investigations Unit has arrested a Bridgeport man in connection with an ongoing sex trafficking investigation at a Stamford hotel. Sean Lewis, 45, was taken into custody Aug. 28 after detectives obtained an arrest warrant and conducted a search of his Bridgeport home.

    Lewis faces multiple charges including human trafficking, 2nd degree unlawful confinement, 1st and 2nd degree promoting prostitution, 2nd and 3rd degree assault, and unlawful use of a payment card. The arrest was made with the assistance of the Bridgeport Police Department, and Lewis was taken into custody without incident.
