We just got our biggest hint yet that the PS5 Pro is real – here's what we know

Sony is starting to celebrate 30 years of PlayStation and may have hinted at the much-talked-about PS5 Pro in a promotional blog for the campaign. Spotted by eagle-eyed user Videotechuk, the image posted by Sony appears to have an unusual icon that seems to point to the upcoming PS5 console.

This is either a mistake or a very clever teaser.

This follows a massive leak from Dealabs last week that hinted at the PS5 Pro's design with multiple black stripes on the console's faceplates. This gives off Adidas vibes. The hidden icon has similar stripes and can be seen near the current PS5 model with its unique stripe.

Sony also posted a cryptic story on the official PlayStation Instagram with a clear preview of the icon and a link to the blog that says “Your first look “.

We've known for months that the PS5 Pro was coming at some point, with insiders claiming in May that it was “100% in development” and would arrive this year. A detailed spec sheet claimed to show an 8K console with massive CPU and GPU upgrades and more memory. While the sketches in Dealabs' leak don't show a disc drive, it's possible Sony could release an external drive like they did with the Slim model.

It's unlikely that the Pro model will be smaller or as “sleek” as the PS5 Slim, but it's also unclear whether it will match the original PS5's monstrous size or fall somewhere in the middle.

We expect the price to be higher than the current models, which start around $449. Analyst Serkan Toto told IGN that he expects Sony to price the Pro variant between $600 and $650. However, in the same article, another analyst believed that Sony would not increase the PS5 Pro's prices and that instead, the base model could decrease in price.

And if we talk about rumors, Sony is reportedly working on a new PlayStation portable console; could they announce an upgraded PS5 Pro alongside a PS Vita 2?

Hopes and dreams for now, but we'll know more in the coming weeks as Sony is expected to announce the PS5 Pro in mid-September at the very least.
