Man accused of murder in Houston, Texas, arrested in Flint

FLINT, Mich. (WNEM) – A man wanted and charged in connection with a deadly shooting in Houston, Texas, was arrested in Flint on Thursday, August 29.

The man, identified as Danny Botley, 37, is accused of shooting and killing another man on June 22 in Houston, according to the Houston Police Department.

Houston Police Department homicide investigators responded to a call of a shooting at a Houston duplex, where they found the victim, Devin Bell, 26, unconscious and suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, the police department said. Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced him dead.

According to the police department, witnesses reported an argument between Bell and an unknown suspect prior to the shooting. The investigation identified Botley as the suspect and murder charges were filed against him on July 31.

Flint Police Department officers arrested Botley without incident Thursday, the police department said, adding that he was awaiting extradition to Harris County, Texas.
