Two Arrested After Drugs, Allegedly Neglected Animals Found in Mercer County Home

MERCER COUNTY, Ky. (FOX 56) — Police executed a search warrant at a home on Oregon Road outside of Salvisa Sunday, but officers didn't expect to find what was also inside.

The Harrodsburg Police Department posted on Facebook Sunday that officers responded to a home in the Oregon Road neighborhood of Harrodsburg as part of a “lengthy” investigation.

Harrodsburg police said that when officers entered the Oregon Road home, “a large quantity of crystal methamphetamine was located along with related paraphernalia and U.S. currency.”

Harrodsburg police discovered “a large quantity of crystal methamphetamine along with related paraphernalia and U.S. currency,” as well as “numerous animals were found on the property, not being properly cared for and living in deplorable conditions” during a search of a home in the Oregon Road area outside Salvisa on Sunday.

In addition to the illegal drugs authorities allegedly found in the home, officers said “numerous animals were found on the property, poorly cared for and living in deplorable conditions.”

Police said the drug investigation as well as a separate investigation into the welfare of animals found in the home are currently ongoing.

The Harrodsburg Police Department said Kenneth Brawner, 47, was arrested and charged with trafficking in methamphetamine – second or greater offense, as well as 33 counts of cruelty to animals and torture of a dog or cat. Gabriella Follmer, 52, was arrested and charged with second-degree cruelty to animals, torture of a dog or cat, first-degree possession of fentanyl and aiding and abetting trafficking in methamphetamine.

Brawner and Follmer were both booked into the Boyle County Detention Center.
