Man charged after setting up sex rendezvous with undercover cop masquerading as teen girl on social media

LACY LAKEVIEW, Texas (KWTX) – Detectives with the Lacy Lakeview Police Department on Aug. 19 arrested a 22-year-old man who set up a sexual rendezvous with whom he believed to be a 15-year-old girl, an arrest warrant affidavit claims.

Oscar Romero Robles was charged with online solicitation of a minor after “showing intent to meet up for sexual relations,” the affidavit states.

According to the document, a Lacy Lakeview police officer went undercover on Facebook, posing as a 15-year-old girl.

Robles began engaging in innocent conversation with the “girl” not knowing he was actually interacting with an undercover officer.

The messages soon turned sexual, and even after the undercover officer told Robles she was an underage girl, Robles continued to text graphic messages, the affidavit explains.

Robles, the warrant states, seemed to not be unearthed by the age difference, stating, “Seriously, if you are 15 years old.”

The text messages included a photo of Robles' penis, but those photos were deleted by Robles before the undercover officer could snap screenshots, the warrant states.

The undercover officer agreed to meet Robles at the Veteran's Memorial Park in Lacy Lakeview to engage in sexual acts, the affidavit explains.

Robles was arrested at the park at around 10 pm, and is currently being held in the McLennan County Jail on a $10,000 bond.

He does, however, have an immigration detainer, meaning that if Robles bonds out of jail, US Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE) will take him into custody for deportation proceedings.
