Body of young man drowned in flooded river found

Bhopal: The body of a 45-year-old man who was swept away by the waters while crossing a river was find on Sunday in Satna district.
The incident took place near Bakia dam near Piparchha village under Kotar police station of the district.
The deceased, identified as Dinesh Singh, 45, a resident of Piparchha village, drowned trying to cross the Semarwal river near the Baika dam.
The two rivers, Semarwal and Tamas, meet at the Baika Dam. As it was raining incessantly, the gates of the dam opened, causing the Semarwal River to flood, which led to the accident.
“The spot where the accident took place is a submerged area. People have their farms there and also bring their cattle for grazing. The victim's buffalo had crossed the river and went to the other side. He too went to the other side to bring the buffalo. The animal came to this side of the river but drowned,” Dilip Mishra, in-charge of Kotar police station, told TOI.
“We started the rescue operations on Saturday, but the body was not found. It was on Sunday that the body was found at the place where the deceased was thought to have drowned,” he added.
