Suspect in Dublin homicide near elementary school arrested in Southern California

DUBLIN, California – A man suspected of involvement in a fatal shooting at a Dublin apartment was arrested Saturday in Barstow, nearly 400 miles from the crime scene.

Dublin police said authorities arrested the suspect around noon in connection with the shooting at the Emerald Park Apartments at 5050 Hacienda Drive around 2:20 p.m. Friday.

Police have not announced charges against the man and said they were still working to confirm his involvement in the Dublin killing.

On Friday afternoon, police responded to the Emerald Park Apartments for a shooting inside one of the apartments. A man was found fatally shot in the head.

Nearby Doughtery Elementary School was closed and traffic was temporarily halted.

Police have not identified the victim. Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact Dublin Police.
