Arrest: Man arrested for killing wife, 5-month-old child in Arunachal | Guwahati News

Guwahati: 35-year-old man man was arrested for allegedly murder her marry and their 5 month old child in Arunachal The Longding district police in the northern state of Pradesh said on Sunday.
The accused has been identified as Gangngam Gangsa, a farmer from Khanu village. He allegedly killed his wife, Ngamjun Gangsa, and their child, Phagang, on Saturday.
Longding Superintendent of Police (SP) Dekio Gumja said one Mangu Pansa had lodged an FIR at Longding police station, alleging that Gangngam had shared a photo of his wife and their child in a WhatsApp group, claiming responsibility for their murder.
After getting information, a police team accompanied by the complainant and Executive Magistrate Bini Shiva, reached the spot and recovered the bodies of the woman and the infant wrapped in a blanket, the SP said, adding that the accused was immediately taken into custody.
The motive for the murder has not yet been determined, but preliminary investigation suggests the accused was mentally ill.
A local “dao” and a shovel were seized from the spot, the SP said, adding that an autopsy was conducted and the bodies were handed over to their family members.
