North Philadelphia Chinese restaurant owner stabbed multiple times, police say

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — An investigation is underway after the owner of a North Philadelphia Chinese restaurant was stabbed Thursday night.

Police responded to the 4900 block of North 5th Street in Olney around 5 p.m. for reports of an armed person.

Authorities said the 50-year-old Hong Kong Chinese restaurant owner was stabbed in the right arm and stomach. He was taken to Albert Einstein Medical Center by police and is expected to survive.

Police described the suspect as a man about 4 feet 10 inches tall, wearing a light-colored cap and green pants.

The North West Detective Division is investigating. No arrests have been made and no weapons have been recovered at this time.
