After rainbow crosswalk was vandalized in July, man responsible arrested

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Isaiah D. Tester, 24, was arrested for vandalizing the East Nashville rainbow crosswalk at the corner of S. 14th and Woodland streets.

On July 2, Tester poured a black liquid on the crosswalk. The crosswalk was created in June at the end of Pride Month as a community effort where anyone could help.

Authorities say Tester was working for a car window replacement company and driving an employer's van when he allegedly used windshield prep primer to deface the crosswalk.

According to police from the Eastern Precinct, a co-worker confronted Tester about the incident and he confessed to the facts. He was eventually fired from the company and admitted to the acts of vandalism during an interview with investigators on August 20.

She's over 80 and legally blind. A Franklin woman continues to crochet for those in need

“Here is a beautiful story that proves that everyone has something to give, no matter their age OR personal struggles. Austin Pollack introduces us to Ms. Sylvia Mooney. At 80 years old, she doesn’t sit around. Instead, she uses her skills to create compassion for others…one stitch at a time. Her crochet creations are donated to non-profit organizations to help our homeless neighbors. You’ll be surprised to learn that she does all of this while dealing with a serious health issue. Well done Sylvia!”
