The Carson City Board of Supervisors is seeking applications from individuals interested in serving on the Board of Appeals. Five positions are open, all for two-year terms.

• General contractor
• Licensed architect
• Civil/structural engineer
• Electrical engineer
• Mechanical engineer

Candidates should be aware that this board may require a minimum commitment of five hours per month. This board provides advice on building and fire code issues in Carson City. All members will serve without compensation.

The Board of Supervisors will interview and appoint the qualified person to the Board of Appeals. Qualified candidates, depending on the category or if self-employed, may need a business license to operate in Carson City.

Applications will be accepted through September 16, 2024. Interviews for this volunteer position are tentatively scheduled for the regular Board of Supervisors meeting on Thursday, October 3.
