Four Arrested in Massive Vance County Drug Sting

Authorities have arrested and charged several people after a major drug bust at a Vance County home.

According to the Vance County Sheriff's Office, deputies, with assistance from the Henderson Police Department and the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation, searched a home on Avery Lane on Wednesday, Aug. 21.

During the search, officers discovered numerous drugs and firearms inside. Officers also said that “numerous minors” were in the home at the time of the search.

The deputies noted:

  • 4,870 “bales” of heroin.
  • 1,154 grams of cocaine.
  • More than a kilo of crack.
  • more than 20 pounds of marijuana.
  • Five weapons.
  • Over $30,000 in U.S. currency.

Police arrested two residents, Maurice Kearney and Andrea Swain, and two other adults, Michael Gill and Tiffanie Moore, and charged them with several crimes.

Maurice Kearney:

  • Cocaine trafficking.
  • Heroin trafficking.
  • Marijuana trafficking.
  • Crime of maintaining both a residence and a motor vehicle for the purpose of keeping/selling/storing controlled substances.

Andrea Swain:

  • Cocaine trafficking.
  • Heroin trafficking.
  • Marijuana trafficking.
  • Crime of maintaining both a residence and a motor vehicle for the purpose of keeping/selling/storing controlled substances.

Michel Gill:

  • Cocaine trafficking.
  • Heroin trafficking.
  • Crime of maintaining both a residence and a motor vehicle for the purpose of keeping/selling/storing controlled substances.

Tiffanie Moore:

  • Cocaine trafficking.
  • Heroin trafficking.
  • Crime of maintaining both a residence and a motor vehicle for the purpose of keeping/selling/storing controlled substances.

The four men were taken to jail by police on bail. Police said no one was injured during the search and they expected more arrests as the investigation continued.
