Frog Fire growth halted as rain expected to arrive Sunday night

CUSTER COUNTY, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — The Frog Fire has burned 3,105 acres and is 20 percent contained as of Sunday morning.

Crews worked on an indirect fire line near the Livingston Mine Trailhead area and contained the fire's spread along the fire's edge in Division K and Division Z, according to the Frog Fire information team.

Crews continues building fire lines in the Big Boulder Drainage while scouting the Big Boulder trail, according to fire officials. Crews are also working on the fire's perimeter to prevent the spread toward structures in the East Fork Drainage.

Crews worked on chipping operations on Saturday to minimize fire fuel, according to fire officials. Resources are currently focused on the fire's north and east flanks.

Warm and dry conditions will persist into Sunday, with rain expected to arrive on Sunday night and continue into Tuesday, according to fire officials.

Fire restrictions on federal, state, and private lands remain in place, as well as a no-fly zone.
