Second Man Sentenced in Violent, 'Sickening' West Omaha Bank Robbery

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – The second suspect in a violent robbery at a West Omaha bank last year learned his sentence Wednesday in federal court.

Andrew Kincaid, 30, was sentenced to 20 years in prison and five years of supervised release for his involvement in a robbery at the First National Bank near 175th and West Center Road on Jan. 26, 2023. He pleaded guilty in March.

Kincaid and his co-defendant, Taliaferro Thompson, were accused of using excessive brutality during the robbery, at one point dragging a pregnant bank employee by the hair before forcing her to open a cash drawer — all while holding a gun to her head.

Thompson and Kincaid were later located and arrested. Officers found firearms, cash and other evidence of the robbery at the residence where the men were taken into custody.

At Thompson's sentencing hearing in May, Judge Brian Buescher described the incident as unusually heinous, cruel, brutal and degrading, calling the actions of both perpetrators “incredibly sickening.”

Thompson received a similar sentence to Kincaid. Both were ordered to pay nearly $270,000 in restitution.
