Shooting in Southeast Washington leaves one dead

The victim was identified as Naheem Worley, 19, of Upper Marlboro, Maryland.

WASHINGTON — A homicide investigation is underway after a shooting in Southeast D.C.

A man was pronounced dead after officers responded to a report of shots fired on Congress Street Southeast shortly after midnight Saturday, according to the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD).

The shooting victim was identified as Naheem Worley, 19, of Upper Marlboro, Maryland, police said.

MPD is asking the public to call (202) 727-9099 or text 50411 if they have any information regarding this incident. According to DC Police, a cash reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest or conviction in this homicide case.
