Terence Crawford Laughs At Kendrick Lamar, UFC Confusion

What happens in Sin City is meant to stay there. Unless it's broadcast to millions of viewers around the world. Professional boxer Terence “Bud” Crawford found himself at the center of a viral joke because of an Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) mistake.

Yesterday (Sept. 14), the UFC mistakenly identified Terence Crawford as Kendrick Lamar during the broadcast of the Saul “Canelo” Alvarez vs. Edgar Berlanga fight. Fans at T-Mobile Arena may not have noticed the error, but viewers certainly did.

Immediately afterward, the “Not Like Us” rapper’s followers took to X (formerly Twitter) with an endless supply of memes replacing Kendrick with Crawford on album covers and more.

In a post shared on Crawford's official Instagram page (visible here), he laughed off the misidentification, writing, “Damn, Kendrick Lamar 😂.”

Crawford then used Kendrick Lamar's song “Euphoria” as the soundtrack to the footage captured at the event. Crawford is no stranger to the sports world (despite the misidentification) as he has won multiple titles in the ring. Crawford is also no newcomer to hip-hop. In July 2023, Crawford had Eminem perform “Lose Yourself” as his exit song.

Fans are now familiar with Crawford's light-hearted sense of humor.
