Professional MMA fighter sentenced to 25 years in prison for killing man in Atlantic City

Professional MMA fighter Andrew Osborne was sentenced Thursday to 25 years in state prison after pleading guilty to first-degree aggravated manslaughter, according to the Atlantic County (NJ) District Attorney's Office.

Osborne, 35, admitted to fatally stabbing Brian Wilkinson, 47, in an Atlantic City, New Jersey, hotel room. He must serve at least 85 percent of his sentence at New Jersey State Prison (NJSP) before possible supervised release.

According to a statement from prosecutors, Osborne stabbed Wilkinson in the head and neck at the Ocean Casino on September 23, 2022. He then fled to Philadelphia, where he was later located and arrested by police.

Authorities previously said in court documents (via NJ.com) that Osborne entered Wilkinson's hotel room at 7:11 a.m. local time and exited at 7:30 a.m. Osborne reportedly left Wilkinson's hotel room wearing his shoes and pants. Wilkinson's body was found at 1:30 p.m. local time.

Osborne competed in 20 professional MMA fights, including one World Series of Fighting (WSOF) loss to Ozzy Dugulubgov in 2013. His professional career spanned from 2011 to 2017, during which time he compiled a record of 7-11-1 with one no contest.
