Will Jagadish become AMMA secretary? Hema Committee report, sexual abuse allegations could lead to reorganisation

As allegations of sexual assault and harassment against Malayalam actors mount, the actors' body, AMMA (Association of Malayalam Movie Artists) is likely to appoint actor Jagadish as its secretary. Jagadish said that strong action should be taken against the alleged perpetrators.

The move comes after actress Siddique resigned as AMMA secretary following allegations of sexual assault by actress Revathy Sampath. She claimed she has evidence against the actor, but she currently has no plans to file a formal complaint and will only reconsider her decision if the government assures her that she will get justice.

The AMMA executive meeting scheduled for Tuesday was postponed as actor Mohanlal could not attend it.

Earlier, Bengali actress Sreelekha Mitra had alleged that director Ranjith sexually harassed her during her audition for the film Paleri Manikyam.

A young artist from the Malayalam film industry on Monday accused actor Baburaj of sexual assault, claiming that he invited her to his house in Aluva and took advantage of her. However, the actor denied the allegations.

Actress Minu Muneer on Monday alleged that actors Jayasurya, Mukesh, Idavela Babu and Maniyanpilla Raju misbehaved with her.

On Sunday, a 2018 post by casting director Tess Joseph resurfaced, in which she accused actor and CPI(M) MP Mukesh of constantly harassing her when she was 20.
