Ukraine deploys locally-made Palyanytsia missile drone

Ukraine has deployed a long-range “drone missile” called Palyanytsia against Russia for the first time.

The first successful use of the new weapon was confirmed by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during his speech on Ukraine's Independence Day on August 24, 2024.

“This is our new method of retaliation against the aggressor. The enemy has been defeated,” Zelenskyy said in his speech. “It will be a challenge for Russia, and it will be even more difficult to say exactly what it is.” [missile or drone] struck.”
