71-year-old Niagara Falls woman killed in collision in Cambria

A 71-year-old Niagara Falls woman was killed Sunday afternoon in a collision in Cambria, the Niagara County Sheriff's Office said.

The collision occurred at 3:14 p.m. at the intersection of Lower Mountain and Baer roads, the sheriff's office said in a news release.

The woman's name has not been released, pending notification of family.

Deputies' initial investigation determined the pickup truck — in which the woman was a backseat passenger — was traveling north on Baer and failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of Lower Mountain.

The driver of a sedan traveling west on Lower Mountain struck the pickup, causing the vehicle to roll onto its side.

The 71-year-old man died at the scene. Two other people in the pickup truck suffered minor injuries and were transported to Erie County Medical Center.
