The Outer Banks Voice – Four Maryland residents arrested in Currituck on multiple drug charges

On August 20, at approximately 7:24 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop for a traffic violation involving a potentially impaired driver in the 100 block of Caratoke Highway. After a brief interaction with the driver, officers established probable cause to search the vehicle.

The search revealed large quantities of narcotics and a concealed firearm.

Ms. Shannon Thrasher, 38, of Baltimore, MDthe driver was charged with:

Trafficking in Cocaine (x3); Possession of Vehicle/Dwelling/Place for Controlled Substances; Misdemeanor Simple Possession of Schedule IV Controlled Substances; Misdemeanor Simple Possession of Schedule II Controlled Substances; Misdemeanor Simple Possession of Schedule III Controlled Substances; Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia; Driving Left of Center.

Ms. Thrasher was granted a $250,000 secured bond and is currently incarcerated at the Currituck County Detention Center.

Mr. Travis Dukes, 37, of Pikesville, Marylandthe front seat passenger was charged with:

Offense of possession of cocaine.

Mr. Dukes was granted a $100,000 secured bond and is currently incarcerated at the Currituck County Detention Center.

Mr. Reginald Dennis, 55, of Glencoe, MDthe rear passenger, was accused of:

Criminal Trafficking in Cocaine (x3); Criminal Possession with Intent to Sell or Distribute Cocaine; Misdemeanor Simple Possession of Schedule IV Controlled Substances; Misdemeanor Simple Possession of Schedule II Controlled Substances; Misdemeanor Simple Possession of Schedule III Controlled Substances; Misdemeanor Carrying a Concealed Weapon; Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia; Misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana (up to ½ ounce).

Mr. Dennis was granted a $250,000 secured bond and is currently incarcerated at the Currituck County Detention Center.

Ms. Laleh Vint, 41, of Baltimore, MDthe other rear passenger, was charged with:

Misdemeanor possession of cocaine; misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia; misdemeanor possession of marijuana paraphernalia.

Ms. Vint was granted a $150,000 secured bond and is currently incarcerated at the Currituck County Detention Center.

Following the search, the four occupants of the vehicle were arrested and brought before the magistrate.
