Another perfect day

CINCINNATI (WXIX) — Today's weather will be much the same as yesterday's, with highs near 80 degrees and plenty of sunshine. Humidity will be low and there will be a light breeze, too. It should be perfect weather for the first day of competition at the Cincinnati Open in Mason.

Tonight is the first night you can enjoy the Perseid meteor shower. Here's what you need to know to see the meteor shower tonight through Tuesday night: While some reports say you can see 100 meteors per hour, there will be more like 10 to 20 in our area. Get away from city lights and find a more remote spot. You don't need binoculars or a telescope because you can see the meteors with the naked eye. You should look east anytime after sunset until midnight. Then, between 2 a.m. and 5 a.m., you can look south to see the meteors.

On Monday, we will have a small chance of rain in the evening. This rain will arrive as early as 8 p.m. and last until midnight. We do not expect much rain. Maximum temperatures will be near 80 degrees.

Tuesday and Wednesday will be dry with highs around 80 degrees and partly cloudy skies.

We see another chance of rain starting Thursday and into the weekend. The chances of rain appear to be scattered at this point and impacts will be minimal.

Tropical Weather: There is a good chance that our next tropical system will be named this week. Currently, the storm is located near the Lesser and Greater Antilles. The National Hurricane Center gives it a 90% chance of becoming a named storm within the next seven days.
